Once you have taken photos or movies on your iPhone and on your digital camera how to you get them onto your iPhone and into a manageable folders.
Note: Both the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 can record movies.
Step 1 – Creating an iPhone Photos Folder

Before downloading any images and videos to your iPhone you will need to create a folder on your PC to store all of your iPhone images.
If you do not have an iPhone images folder then create one in your ‘My Pictures’ folder using Windows Explorer. On your PC Click Start -> My Pictures.
This will open Windows Explorer in the ‘My Pictures’ folder. You may already have folders and images in this folder, however it is recommended that you create a separate folder for your iPhone images, which can also include wallpapers.
Within Windows Explorer Click File -> New -> Folder. A new folder will be created so name it ‘iPhone Images’. This is the folder that all of your iPhone pictures will be stored in.
Step 2 – Create Sub-Folders

All of the images in the ‘iPhone Images’ folder will be saved to your iPhone, however sub-folders are required to organise you images effectively.
Double Click the ‘iPhone Images’ folder to open it. Within Windows Explorer Click File -> New -> Folder. A new folder will be created that you can name. Keep the length to 21 characters or less but be descriptive e.g. Spain Holiday 2009.
Create as many sub-folders directly off the ‘iPhone Images’ folder as you require.
Step 3 – Setting Up iTunes
Connect your iPhone to your PC and wait for it to sync. In iTunes, click on ‘iPhone’ in the left menu bar under ‘Devices’ and then select the ‘Photos’ tab on the top menu bar. Ensure there is a tick in the box to the left of ‘Sync photos from:’ and to the right click on the grey folder tab. Select the ‘Choose folder…’ option and browse to the My Pictures --> iPhone Images folder and select ‘OK’.
Select the ‘All Folders’ and ‘Include Videos’ options.

Step 4 – Copying Images and Videos From iPhone
To move images and videos from your iPhone, ensure that the iPhone is connected to your computer, then open Windows Explorer and click on ‘My Computer’. A list of drives will appear including one called ‘iPhone’ with an image of a camera next to it.
Select this and the images and videos stored in the iPhone’s ‘Camera Roll’ will be visible. Select the images and videos you want to organise and select Edit --> Copy from the top menu bar in Windows Explorer. Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the My Pictures --> iPhone Images folder and open one of the sub-folders you previously created (see Step 2) that you wish to place the images and videos in. From the menu bar at the top of Windows Explorer select Edit --> Paste. The images will be copied into the folder. Repeat these steps as necessary.

Step 5 – Copying Images and Videos from Other Folders
To copy images from other folders simply use Windows Explorer to copy the images from their original location into a sub-folder in the ‘iPhone Images’ folder.
The iPhone can playback videos in two different formats, .mp4 and .mov. If the movies are in any other format, they will need to be converted, which this article does not cover. To copy videos from other folders simply use Windows Explorer to copy the videos from their original location into a sub-folder in the ‘iPhone Images’ folder.
Step 6 – Syncing iPhone
If you have followed this guide correctly, all you need to do it to unplug your iPhone from your computer and plug it back in again to Synchronise it. All of the folders, photos and videos will be copied across to your iPhone.
To access the photos and videos simply go into the ‘Photos’ app to view your photo albums.
